Continuous Valve Position Monitoring

The MVQ201 continuously detects the rotary position of the connected valve actuator. Its 360° detection zone provides complete angular monitoring of the actuator movement. Position detection has ±1° accuracy, 0.1° resolution and 0.1° repeatability. The sensor can therefore provide detailed feedback rather than only a basic open or closed signal. This makes it suitable for automated valve monitoring and control systems.

Integrated Solenoid Control

The MVQ201 combines valve position feedback with direct solenoid-valve control. Two solenoid outputs can control compatible mono-stable or bi-stable valves. Each solenoid output supports up to 200 mA and includes short-circuit and overload protection. This arrangement reduces the amount of separate wiring required between the control system and local valve. It is especially useful for decentralised valve automation installations.

IO-Link and Commissioning

IO-Link provides parameterisation, process-data communication and diagnostic information through the sensor. The device uses COM2 communication at 38.4 kBaud. Automatic teach-in and PLC teach-in modes simplify configuration of the valve's open and closed positions. The sensor also provides a flashing function for easier device identification during commissioning. These functions make the MVQ201 suitable for digitally connected process automation systems.
