Product Design & Construction

The IF5579 uses a M12 x 1 cylindrical threaded housing with an 80 mm length. The housing is made from white-bronze-plated brass, while the active face is made from orange PBT. The robust construction is suited to industrial machinery and factory automation installations.

The sensor uses an M12 connector with gold-plated contacts, providing a standardized connection for integration with industrial control systems and sensor cabling.

Sensing & Switching Performance

The IF5579 has a nominal 4 mm sensing range and a real sensing range of 4 mm ±10%. Its operating distance is specified at approximately 0 to 3.24/3.25 mm, depending on the referenced datasheet version. The sensor is designed for non-flush installation and detects metallic targets without physical contact.

The PNP normally open output provides a positive switching signal when a suitable metallic target is detected. With a switching frequency of 400 Hz, the sensor is suitable for repeated detection tasks in automated machinery and production systems.

Electrical Protection
