The Vacuum Gripper VLG is designed for the reliable conveyance of large workpieces. Its robust vacuum system ensures secure holding and smooth movement, making it ideal for industrial automation applications where stability and precision are critical. Whether handling flat or irregularly shaped components, this gripper provides consistent performance across a range of operational conditions.

Construction and Materials

The VLG features two distinct configurations: a whole surface sponge type and an arranged Vacuum Pads type. Both designs are constructed from durable materials to withstand continuous industrial use. The body is available in two standard widths—50 mm and 100 mm—and can be customized in length from 200 mm to 600 mm, allowing precise matching to specific workpiece dimensions and automation setups.

Configuration and Connections

The gripper connects via a mounting plate that fits robots with a P.C.D. (pitch circle diameter) of 31.5 mm. This mounting plate is sold separately and enables direct integration into robotic systems. The interface ensures secure, stable attachment while maintaining alignment and repeatability during automated operations.

Operating Characteristics

The VLG is equipped with a built-in large flow vacuum generator capable of delivering a maximum suction flow rate of 890 L/min (*), based on specifications for four built-in ejectors. It operates using air as the fluid medium, with an operating pressure range from 0.3 to 0.7 MPa and a rated supply pressure of 0.5 MPa. The system functions reliably within an ambient temperature range of 5°C to 50°C, with no freezing allowed.

Sizes and Options

Available pad sizes include: 200 x 50 mm, 300 x 50 mm, 400 x 50 mm, 500 x 50 mm, and 600 x 50 mm for the standard width; and 200 x 101 mm, 300 x 101 mm, 400 x 101 mm, 500 x 101 mm, and 600 x 101 mm for the wider variant. These options allow users to select the most appropriate pad size based on workpiece dimensions and surface area requirements.

Installation and Integration

For integration into robotic systems, a mounting plate is available that supports connection to robots with a P.C.D. of 31.5 mm (sold separately). This provides a standardized and secure interface for mounting the gripper directly onto industrial robot arms or automated handling systems.
