The TAD991 is an intelligent IFM temperature transmitter designed for process applications requiring reliable temperature measurement and sensor-condition monitoring. It uses a thermally coupled Pt1000 and NTC arrangement with backup functionality. If one sensing element fails, the other element can continue temperature measurement. The transmitter also provides diagnostic functions that help identify drift and faults before they affect the process.
The TAD991 provides a scalable temperature measuring range of -25 to 160 °C, with a factory setting of 0 to 150 °C. Drift warning and drift alarm thresholds can be configured between 0.2 and 5 °C. The sensor provides a 4–20 mA analogue output and a configurable diagnostic output for drift and fault monitoring. IO-Link communication enables parameter setting, process-value access and diagnostic information.
The TAD991 uses a G1/2 external thread with sealing cone and has a 33 mm installation length.
