The TAD181 is an intelligent IFM temperature transmitter developed for applications where temperature accuracy and sensor reliability are essential. It uses thermally coupled Pt1000 and NTC sensing elements with a backup function for continuous temperature measurement. The transmitter can detect sensor drift and faults and provide diagnostic information to the automation system. Its IO-Link interface also enables convenient parameterisation, process-data access and device diagnostics.
The TAD181 provides a scalable measuring range from -25 to 160 °C with a factory setting of 0 to 150 °C. Drift warning and drift alarm thresholds can be configured between 0.2 and 5 °C in 0.05 °C steps. The analogue output provides a standard 4–20 mA signal, while the configurable digital output can provide switching or diagnostic functions. The sensor has a dynamic response of approximately 3 seconds for T05 and 6 seconds for T09.
The TAD181 features a G1 external thread with Aseptoflex Vario process connection and an 87.5 mm installation length. Its 10 mm probe diameter and stainless-steel wetted construction make it suitable for industrial and hygienic process equipment. The wetted surfaces have a surface roughness of less than Ra 0.6 µm. IP68 and IP69K protection supports reliable operation in demanding environments such as food, beverage and process industries.
