Capacitive Touch Technology

The KT5002 uses a dynamic capacitive sensing principle. It detects operator interaction without requiring mechanical pressure or physical switch movement. The large 100 mm activation area provides a broad interaction zone. This design reduces mechanical wear associated with conventional push buttons. The sensor is therefore suitable for frequently operated machine interfaces.

Electrical Design

The KT5002 uses a PNP normally open switching output. It operates from 12 to 30 V DC and has approximately 30 mA current consumption. The output supports 200 mA permanent current. Short-circuit and overload protection are included. Reverse polarity protection and class III construction support electrical reliability.

Visual Feedback

Eight red LEDs indicate switching status on the front of the sensor. Eight green LEDs indicate normal operation. This dual indication makes the sensor status easy to understand during machine operation. The large illuminated interface can also improve operator visibility. Different coloured external surrounds can be used as optional accessories.

Mechanical and Connection Design

The KT5002 uses a cylindrical 100 mm diameter body with an 11 mm length. Its activation surface uses transparent PA Grilamid TR 90UV. The housing is black PC/ABS with a green PC/ABS surround. The 0.3 m PUR cable terminates in an M8 connector. The documented weight is approximately 131 g.

The 0.3 m PUR cable keeps the connection close to the sensor. The M8 connector provides a compact standardized industrial interface.
