Contactless Touch Operation

The KT5001 detects user interaction through capacitive technology without requiring mechanical button movement. Its dynamic operating principle is designed for reliable touch-based switching. The 100 mm activation surface provides a large target area for operators. The absence of mechanical contacts reduces mechanical wear. This makes the sensor suitable for frequently operated machine controls.

Electrical Performance

The sensor uses a PNP normally open output. It operates from 12 to 30 V DC with a current consumption of approximately 30 mA. The switching output supports 200 mA permanent current. Short-circuit and overload protection are included. Reverse polarity protection and a protection class of III further support safe installation.

Visual Indication

The KT5001 uses eight red LEDs to indicate switching status. Eight green LEDs indicate operating status. The LED arrangement provides clear visibility from the front of the sensor. This can help operators distinguish between active switching and normal operating conditions. Visual feedback is particularly useful on machine control panels and operator interfaces.

Mechanical Design

The sensor has a cylindrical format with a 100 mm diameter and an 11 mm length. Its activation face is made from transparent PA Grilamid TR 90UV. The housing uses black PC/ABS with a green PC/ABS coloured surround. The documented weight is 160 g. Optional surrounds are available in different colours.
