The capacitive sensing principle allows the KQ6004 to detect suitable materials without mechanical contact. Its 12 mm nominal sensing range provides reliable detection for level and presence applications. The real sensing range is 12 ±10%. Hysteresis is specified at 1 to 15% of Sr. The sensor can therefore be used for dry bulk and liquid detection applications.
IO-Link 1.1 communication provides access to digital sensor parameters and process information. The device uses COM1 transmission at 4.8 kBaud. SIO mode allows the sensor to operate as a conventional switching device. The minimum process cycle time is 100.8 ms. This architecture supports integration into intelligent automation systems.
The KQ6004 uses a PNP output stage and operates from 10 to 30 V DC. Current consumption is below 17 mA. The switching output can continuously handle 100 mA and has a maximum voltage drop of 2.5 V. Short-circuit and overload protection support dependable operation. Reverse polarity protection is also provided.
The sensor has a 20 × 14 × 48 mm rectangular housing. It is intended for non-flush installation and uses a reinforced PBT housing.
