The KQ6003 uses capacitive sensing to detect dry bulk materials and liquids without physical contact. Its sensing range is 12 mm with a real sensing range of 12 ±10%. Hysteresis is specified between 1 and 15% of Sr. Switch-point drift is specified between -20 and 20% of Sr. The sensing principle is suitable for level and material-presence monitoring.
A key feature of the KQ6003 is automatic load detection for PNP/NPN operation. The sensor can automatically identify the connected load when a resistive load below 20 kΩ is used. This provides greater wiring flexibility than a fixed-output sensor. The switching output remains suitable for conventional automation interfaces. IO-Link additionally provides digital configuration and diagnostics.
The KQ6003 operates from 10 to 30 V DC with less than 17 mA current consumption. Its output supports 100 mA permanent current and a maximum voltage drop of 2.5 V.
