The KD5039 uses capacitive sensing to detect liquids and dry bulk materials without mechanical contact. Its nominal sensing range is 60 mm, with a real sensing range of 60 ±10%. The operating distance extends from 0 to 48.6 mm. Hysteresis is specified from 1 to 15% of the real sensing range. Correction factors are provided for glass, water, ceramics and PVC.
The sensor uses a DC PNP electrical design with selectable normally open and normally closed output behavior. It operates from 10 to 36 V DC with approximately 5 mA current consumption at 24 V.
