Detection Range

The KD5022 provides a 60 mm sensing range for non-contact detection. Its actual sensing range is 60 ±10%, with an operating distance of 0 to 48.6 mm. Hysteresis is 1 to 15% of Sr. Switch-point drift is -15 to 15%. Correction factors are provided for glass, water, ceramics and PVC.

PNP Normally Closed Output

The sensor uses a PNP normally closed output. It operates from 10 to 36 V DC with approximately 15 mA current consumption at 24 V. Continuous output current is 250 mA and switching frequency is 10 Hz. Short-circuit and overload protection are included. Reverse polarity protection is also provided.

Mechanical Construction

The KD5022 uses a rectangular modified-PPE housing measuring 120 × 80 × 30 mm. It is designed for non-flush installation and has IP65 protection. The ambient temperature range is -25 to 50°C. A yellow LED provides status indication. The sensor uses a 2 m PVC cable with three 0.5 mm² conductors.

Large Housing Advantage

The 120 × 80 × 30 mm format provides a broad mechanical platform for industrial mounting. The 60 mm sensing range supports detection of larger targets and material levels. Cable Connection

The 2 m PVC cable provides direct connection to the control system. Three 0.5 mm² conductors provide the required PNP wiring arrangement. Brown, black and blue conductors identify the main electrical connections. The fixed cable configuration reduces the need for a separate sensor cordset. This is useful for standard machine installations where a fixed cable is preferred.
