Adjustable Capacitive Detection

The KB5004 provides a 3 to 20 mm adjustable sensing range. Its factory setting is 20 mm with a real sensing range of 20 ±10%. The operating distance is 0 to 16.2 mm. Hysteresis is specified between 1 and 15% of Sr. The correction factors for glass, water, ceramics and PVC allow the sensing characteristics to be considered for different materials.

PNP Electrical Output

The sensor uses a DC PNP normally open output. It operates from 10 to 36 V DC with approximately 13 mA current consumption at 24 V. The output can continuously switch up to 250 mA. Switching frequency is 40 Hz. Short-circuit and overload protection are integrated.

Industrial Construction

The KB5004 has a cylindrical Ø34 × 81 mm PBT housing. It is designed for non-flush mounting and has IP65 protection. Increased immunity to conducted RF interference supports stable operation near electrical equipment. A yellow LED provides switching-status indication. The model uses a 2 m PVC cable with 3 × 0.5 mm² conductors.
