The KB0025 uses capacitive sensing to detect both metallic and non-metallic materials without mechanical contact. Its sensing range can be adjusted from 3 to 20 mm using the integrated adjustment mechanism. The real sensing range is 20 ±10%, with an operating distance of 0 to 16.2 mm. Correction factors are specified for glass, water, ceramics and PVC. This makes the sensor suitable for material presence and level monitoring.
The sensor operates across a wide 20 to 250 V AC/DC supply range. It provides a normally open switching output with a continuous current rating of 200 mA. The maximum voltage drop is 8 V on DC and 10 V on AC. Switching frequency is 25 Hz on AC and 40 Hz on DC. The sensor does not provide short-circuit or overload protection, so the specified external protection should be used.
The KB0025 has a cylindrical PBT housing measuring 34 mm in diameter and 81 mm in length. It is designed for non-flush mounting and includes a yellow switching-status LED.
