The PI7698 is designed for accurate measurement of low relative pressures. Its control range extends from approximately -12.4 to 250 mbar. The sensor is suitable for liquids and gases used in hygienic and industrial systems. The flush pressure connection helps minimise dead zones around the sensing element. This design is useful for applications involving viscous media or media containing suspended solids.
The sensor provides two digital outputs with programmable switching behaviour. The outputs can be configured as normally open or normally closed. PNP/NPN operation provides flexibility when connecting the sensor to different control systems. One output can also be configured for diagnostic functionality. The four-digit alphanumeric display provides direct indication of the measured pressure. Five green LEDs are used for display-unit and parameter indication. Two yellow LEDs provide switching-status indication. The zero point and measuring range can be adjusted through the sensor interface. This allows convenient commissioning without requiring an external display device.
The PI7698 operates from 18–32 V DC and provides reverse-polarity protection. Its ambient operating range is -25 to 80 °C. The medium temperature range extends from -25 to 125 °C, with 145 °C permitted for short periods. IP67/IP69K protection supports demanding industrial and hygienic environments. The stainless-steel construction further improves durability in process applications.
