IFM E21316 is a fibre optic diffuse reflection sensor with an angled M6 sensing head designed for industrial automation. E21316 operates using the diffuse reflection sensing principle. It detects objects by receiving reflected optical energy from the target through the fibre optic. The sensor is compatible with OBF, OCF and OO50 amplifiers. Its specified ranges are 70 mm with OBF, 980 mm with OCF High Power and 150 mm with OO50. This provides flexibility for different industrial sensing distances.
The sensing head uses an angled configuration with an M6 thread and 17.5 mm head length. The threaded head provides a secure mechanical mounting interface for industrial installations. Its angled orientation can simplify positioning around machine components. The design is useful where the sensing point is difficult to approach with a straight fibre head. The M6 interface also provides a robust mounting arrangement.
The sensor uses PMMA optical fibre, a stainless-steel 303 / 1.4305 fibre head and PE sheath. Its total fibre length is 2000 mm with a minimum bending radius of 2 mm. The product weighs approximately 50 g and operates from -40 to 70°C. Two M6 hexagon nuts and two tooth lock washers are supplied. The E20600 fibre cutter is available as an optional accessory.
