IFM E21314 is a fibre optic diffuse reflection sensor designed for compact industrial object detection. E21314 uses diffuse reflection sensing to detect objects through reflected optical energy. The sensor can be combined with OBF, OCF and OO50 fibre-optic amplifiers. The available ranges are 25 mm with OBF, 620 mm with OCF High Power and 50 mm with OO50. This makes the product suitable for short-range and compact sensing applications. The arrangement eliminates the need for a separate receiver fibre at the sensing point.
The sensing head is angled and has dimensions of 3 x 11 x 15 mm. This compact arrangement allows the sensor head to be positioned close to machine components and targets. The angled configuration can simplify installation where straight access is difficult. The flat rectangular design is particularly useful in space-constrained automation systems. It supports practical integration into compact machinery.
The fibre assembly has a total length of 2000 mm and a minimum bending radius of 2 mm. This allows the fibre to be routed around machine frames and other components. Two M2 stainless-steel hexagon nuts are supplied for mounting.
