IFM E21313 is a fibre optic through-beam sensor designed for industrial object detection applications. It uses a flat rectangular sensing configuration suitable for locations with limited mounting space. The sensor works with OBF, OCF and OO50 fibre-optic amplifiers for different detection ranges. Its 2 m fibre length and 2 mm minimum bending radius provide flexible routing inside machinery. The angled sensing head and PMMA fibre construction make it suitable for compact automated equipment.
Explore performance details, construction highlights, applications, and technical information in one clear overview.
E21313 uses a through-beam sensing principle for detecting objects that interrupt the optical path. It is compatible with OBF, OCF and OO50 fibre-optic amplifiers. The specified ranges are 210 mm with OBF, 4000 mm with OCF High Power and 600 mm with OO50. These different amplifier combinations allow the sensor to be adapted to various detection distances. The through-beam arrangement is suitable for reliable presence and interruption detection.
The sensor has an angled sensing head measuring 3 x 8.5 x 15 mm. This compact geometry allows the sensing head to be positioned in areas where space is restricted. The angled configuration can simplify alignment when the optical sensing point cannot be accessed directly from the front. Its flat fibre construction is useful for compact machine layouts. The small sensing head also supports installation close to the target area.
E21313 has a total fibre length of 2000 mm and a minimum bending radius of 2 mm. This allows the fibre to be routed around machine components and through narrow spaces. The PMMA fibre is protected by a PE sheath and connected to a stainless-steel 303 / 1.4305 fibre head. Four M2 stainless-steel hexagon nuts are supplied. The E20600 fibre cutter is available as an optional accessory for fibre preparation.
