The IFM VSE003 is a diagnostic electronics unit for continuous vibration monitoring and machine-condition analysis. It provides four dynamic inputs for VSA, IEPE and compatible analogue vibration signals. Two additional analogue inputs support process-value or speed-related signals. Two configurable PNP outputs can provide alarms, while one output can provide a 4–20 mA analogue signal. Ethernet communication and internal trend memory support networked vibration diagnostics and predictive maintenance.
Explore performance details, construction highlights, applications, and technical information in one clear overview.
The VSE003 provides four dynamic inputs for simultaneous vibration-sensor connection. These inputs support 0–10 mA, IEPE and 4–20 mA signals. The dynamic inputs use 16-bit resolution and support frequencies up to 12,000 Hz. This allows several machine vibration points to be monitored by one device. The architecture is suitable for condition monitoring of motors, bearings and gears.
Two analogue inputs accept 4–20 mA process signals. Pulse/HTL signals can also be used for suitable speed or trigger applications. Two configurable PNP outputs provide normally open or normally closed alarm functions. One output can be configured as a 4–20 mA analogue output. This allows vibration and process information to be integrated into automation systems.
The VSE003 communicates through Ethernet using TCP/IP. The default Ethernet interface supports 10Base-T and 100Base-TX. Internal history memory and buffered data memory provide long-term data storage. A real-time clock supplies timing information for recorded data. This makes the VSE003 suitable for networked predictive-maintenance applications.

The four dynamic inputs allow several vibration sensors to be monitored simultaneously. This supports machine-level condition monitoring without requiring a separate diagnostic controller for each sensor. Dynamic signals can be analysed for vibration characteristics. The system can also combine vibration signals with process or speed information. This provides a broader view of machine condition.
The VSE003 supports monitoring tasks for vibration and process values. Historical data can be stored internally for trend evaluation. Ethernet communication allows the diagnostic unit to exchange data with higher-level systems. Alarm outputs provide immediate notification of monitored conditions. These functions support condition-based maintenance strategies.
