The ALPHAIR AP420 is part of the AP Series range of pneumatic rack-and-pinion actuators. It is designed for rotary valve actuation and features internal adjustment system acting on pistons and covers to avoid side-loads on pistons, shaft and body. The actuator provides 90° movement.

The lower mounting arrangement supports valve fastening and centering according to ISO 5211 / DIN 3337.
Dry or lubricated filtered compressed air; feeding pressure 8 bar / 120 PSI, maximum 10 bar / 145 PSI. Rotation adjustment is +/- 5°. Factory-applied lubrication for a minimum of 1,000,000 operations.
The body is made from extruded aluminium alloy en aw 6063 t6. The covers use aluminium alloy en ab 46100 t6, while the pistons use aluminium alloy en ab 46100 t6. The shaft is carbon steel with chemical nickel-plating; stainless steel aisi 304 or aisi 316 available as special execution. Seal options include nitrile rubber nbr; high-temperature fpm/fkm and low-temperature silicone available as special executions.
Low-friction LAT-LUB acetalic resin bearings with +20% PTFE; replaceable for maintenance. Solenoid connections follow NAMUR VDI/VDE-3845, with top mounting provisions for accessories. The standard temperature range is -20°C to +80°C. 100% seal testing and running testing with electronic equipment; each actuator is individually tested.
AP420 has a double-acting torque at 6 bar of 10025 Nm and an A-90° dimension of 940 mm.
