UNID provides a range of optional functions and accessories for configuring its electric actuators around the valve, control system and installation environment. These options are documented across the official actuator product pages and the current all-actuator technical information.
The heater is designed to increase and stabilize the internal actuator temperature, helping reduce moisture and condensation and preventing lubricant from freezing in cold environments. UNID also describes a thermal-protection function. The heater voltage must match the electric actuator supply, and UNID recommends avoiding heater installation when the temperature is above 35°C/95°F.
The failsafe option is a battery-type emergency function. When normal power fails, the actuator drives the valve to the safe position selected for the application. UNID documents a battery charging requirement before first use, factory presetting of the safe open/close position and an additional limit-switch arrangement for the failsafe configuration.
Backup power provides emergency battery capability but differs from preset failsafe operation. With backup power, the end user can operate the valve to the desired position after power loss rather than relying exclusively on a preset factory position.
The extra limit switch provides voltage-free valve-position feedback. UNID describes separate open and close status contacts, allowing the actuator to communicate valve position to an external controller or monitoring system without using the feedback contact as a powered output.
Modulating control allows the actuator to adjust valve opening angle to regulate liquid flow. UNID describes BLDC-based frequent operation, 75% duty-cycle modulation, LED indication, overload protection and voltage-free signal feedback. Applicable smart and linear products can use current or voltage control signals.
The aluminum housing option provides IP68 water and dust protection for applicable actuator configurations and is intended for outdoor or demanding environments. Many standard configurations use nylon IP67 housings.
