The IFM CR2532 is a high-capacity SmartController XL designed for advanced mobile-machine automation. It provides 64 total I/O channels with 32 digital inputs and 32 digital outputs. Additional analogue, frequency and resistor input functions provide extensive signal-processing capability. Twenty-four PWM outputs and four PWM-I outputs provide flexible actuator control. The CR2532 provides a large number of configurable I/O channels in one controller. It includes 32 digital inputs for connecting sensors, switches and other machine signals. Eight analogue inputs provide voltage and current measurement capabilities. Eight frequency inputs support speed, pulse and frequency-based measurements. Four resistor inputs provide additional sensor interface flexibility. The 32 digital outputs allow a large number of actuators to be controlled from one device.
The controller provides 24 PWM outputs for proportional and pulse-width-based control. Four PWM-I outputs provide current-controlled actuator functionality. Four analogue outputs provide 0.2...10 V signals for compatible control devices. These output functions are useful for proportional valves and other machine actuators. The large output capacity reduces the requirement for additional controllers. It is particularly useful for complex mobile hydraulic and vehicle-control systems.
Three CAN interfaces allow the CR2532 to communicate with multiple CAN networks. This provides flexibility for machine architectures containing several electronic subsystems. The controller supports programmable PLC functionality according to IEC 61131-3. Input and output functions can be configured according to the application requirements.
